Daily Sheet Calendar Printing — Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam & Hindi Tear-Off Calendars in Bulk
The 365-leaf panchangam calendar that hangs in most South Indian homes, made to order in the two Sivakasi trade sizes — Super 10 × 15 in and Chutti 5 × 15 in — with your brand on the header panel.
In short
A daily sheet calendar is 365 tear-off leaves glued to a printed header on a 250–300 GSM backing card. In Sivakasi the Super 10 × 15 in size runs ₹22–₹34 per piece at 5,000 and the narrower Chutti 5 × 15 in ₹16–₹26. MOQ is 500 pieces; lead time 12–18 days.

Daily sheet calendar rates and specs
Three sizes, five quantity tiers. The leaf block is the same job in each; what changes is the sheet area, which decides how many pieces come off a 20 × 30 in press sheet.

What IndiaMART and iPrintZone quote, and where our band sits
IndiaMART's Sivakasi listings show a Tamil daily calendar at ₹25 a piece and a plain daily wall calendar at ₹15. iPrintZone's Sivakasi calendar price-list page quotes ₹32 for a 10 × 15 in daily wall calendar. All three are single numbers with no quantity, no GSM and no leaf count attached, which makes them impossible to compare. Our Super 10 × 15 band of ₹22–₹34 at 5,000 pieces straddles all of them — and it says what quantity it applies to, which is the part that actually determines the price.
What is inside a daily sheet calendar
The leaf block
- 365 or 366 dated leaves, printed 1 or 2 colours on 42–50 GSM maplitho or newsprint
- Padded and glued at the head, so a leaf tears cleanly along the glue line and the block stays square
- Sunday and festival dates in a second colour — the standard second plate on the leaf run
- Date data supplied by the almanac source you nominate; we typeset and proof it, we do not author it
The header and backing
- Header panel printed 4-colour on 250–300 GSM art card — this is where your brand goes
- Backing card 250 GSM for Chutti and Super, 300 GSM for 12 × 18 in
- Punched hole, eyelet, or metal rim with centre hole for the nail
- Optional gloss or matte lamination on the header to survive twelve months of handling
Regional and religious editions
The date grid is the cheap part. The almanac data on it is what makes a daily calendar a regional product, and each edition is a separate set of plates.
| Edition | Date data carried | Typical market | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tamil panchangam | Tithi, nakshatra, rahu kalam, yamagandam, gulika, muhurtham marks | Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia | The largest single edition out of Sivakasi. Tamil month names need about 18% more vertical space than English |
| Malayalam | Malayalam era date, nakshatra, festival days | Kerala, Gulf Malayali market | Conjunct-heavy script; needs a proof read by a native speaker, not a spellcheck |
| Telugu panchangam | Tithi, nakshatra, varjyam, durmuhurtham | Andhra Pradesh, Telangana | Separate almanac source from the Tamil edition; the two do not agree on every tithi |
| Kannada | Panchanga data, festival days | Karnataka | Often ordered alongside Tamil by Bengaluru-based distributors |
| Hindi | Vikram Samvat date, tithi, festival days | North and central India | Usually a monthly sheeter market rather than a daily one; check before assuming |
| Christian | Liturgical calendar, feast days, saints' days | Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Goa | Denominational differences are real — confirm which calendar before plating |
| Muslim | Hijri date alongside Gregorian, prayer times where specified | Across India | Hijri dates shift against the Gregorian year, so this edition cannot be reprinted unchanged |
| Plain English | Dates, weekdays, national holidays only | Corporate, office, export | Cheapest edition. One set of plates serves the whole country |
Why the header panel is the only part of the calendar you should design
Buyers new to daily calendars often arrive with a full-colour design for the leaves. It is a waste of money. The leaf block prints one or two colours on 45 GSM paper at extreme speed — that is what makes 365 leaves cost less than a rupee each in total. Putting 4-colour work on the leaves multiplies the plate count by the number of leaf formes and roughly doubles the leaf cost for something the customer tears off and throws away the same day.
The header panel is different. It is 4-colour on 250–300 GSM art card, it is the piece that stays on the wall for twelve months, and it is the only part anybody looks at after the first of January. Your logo, your product photograph, your branch address block and your phone number belong there. If you want a second branded surface, the reverse of the backing card is the cheapest one available — it prints at the same time as the header and costs only the ink.
The practical rule we give corporate buyers: spend your design budget on the header, specify the cheapest leaf that will survive a humid October in your market, and put the money you save into a heavier backing card so the calendar does not bow on the nail. A 210 GSM backing on a 10 × 15 in calendar will curl by March. A 250 GSM backing will not.
The order clock for a daily calendar
Spec — day 0
Size, edition, quantity, leaf GSM, backing GSM, hanger type. Band back within 1 working day.
Almanac data — day 1–5
You supply or nominate the date data. This is the step that delays daily calendars, not the printing — allow real time for it.
Header proof — day 5–7
Digital proof of the header and backing, plus a leaf specimen for the month panel layout. Written approval, 50% advance.
Leaf run and padding — day 7–14
Leaves print and are padded, glued and squared. Header and backing print on the 4-colour line in parallel.
Mounting and dispatch — day 14–18
Block mounted on the backing, eyelet or rim fitted, bundled in 25s and packed. Balance before loading.
Questions we answer daily
How much does a Tamil daily calendar cost per piece?
In the Super 10 × 15 in trade size, ₹46–₹68 at 500 pieces, ₹22–₹34 at 5,000 and ₹14–₹22 at 50,000, ex-factory Sivakasi. The narrower Chutti 5 × 15 in runs ₹16–₹26 at 5,000. IndiaMART lists a single figure of ₹25 with no quantity attached, which is why comparing it to anything is difficult.
What is the difference between Chutti and Super daily calendars?
Both are 15 in tall, so they run together on the same press sheet. Chutti is 5 in wide, Super is 10 in. Chutti costs roughly 25–30% less per piece because it uses half the sheet area, but the header panel is too narrow for a product photograph — it takes a logo and a phone number and little else.
Can you print the panchangam data?
We typeset, lay out and proof it; we do not author it. Tithi, nakshatra, rahu kalam, yamagandam and muhurtham marks come from the almanac source you nominate, and we print exactly what you approve on the proof. Allow 1–5 days at the front of the job for the data to be finalised — it delays more daily calendar orders than printing ever does.
What GSM should the leaves be?
45–50 GSM maplitho is the standard for a 365-leaf block. 42 GSM newsprint saves 4–7% of the piece price but yellows by October and tears when pulled in humid weather. On a 12 × 18 in calendar use 50 GSM — a large leaf on 42 GSM will not tear along the glue line cleanly.
Can I put my logo on a daily calendar?
Yes, on the 4-colour header panel, which is printed on 250–300 GSM art card and is the part that stays on the wall all year. Header branding is inside the standard price — there is no extra charge for it. The reverse of the backing card is a second branded surface at ink cost only.
What is the minimum order for daily sheet calendars?
500 pieces per edition. In practice daily calendars are a distributor product and orders usually start at 5,000 — at 500 pieces the padding and mounting setup is a large share of the price. Below 500, there is no digital equivalent for a 365-leaf block, so the honest answer is to buy house stock and overprint the header.
How early do I need to order daily calendars for 2027?
By June 2027 for the bottom of the band. Daily calendars are the last product the cluster will still accept in October and November, because the leaf block runs fast, but you will pay the top of the band and freight will be tight against a December delivery. A November order for 50,000 pieces is a conversation, not a purchase order.
